Why? simply because when you use a color name like red for example, the color will not look exactly the same in all browsers. By using a color name red , you’re allowing the browser to display what it thinks red is.

Is there a source on this? Color keywords are defined in the CSS Color spec with specific values: https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-3/#svg-color
I'm curious which browsers deviate from these specs. Thanks!
